Montreal, Quebec, January 12th, 2005 - CCM©, the world's leading brand of hockey equipment, today unveiled three new additions to its star studded list of athlete endorsements. Hockey icon Mario Lemieux (Pittsburgh Penguins) and future hall of fame goalie Ed Belfour (Toronto Maple Leafs) have joined the team of NHL superstars using CCM. While CCM has also joined forces with the #1 overall pick in the 2004 NHL draft pick, Alexander Ovechkin (Washington Capitals). The Russian superstar recently led his team to a silver medal finish in the World Junior Championships and was the tournament's overall goal-scoring leader.

Lemieux and Ovechkin join what is already the most impressive list of NHL players for any brand in the industry. They will join a team that already features Vincent Lecavalier, Stanley Cup Champion with the Tampa Bay Lightning and World Cup of Hockey MVP, as well as NHL team captains and World Cup of Hockey Gold medalist Joe Thornton of the Boston Bruins and Shane Doan of the Phoenix Coyotes. Brad Stuart (San Jose Sharks), Radek Bonk (Montreal Canadiens) career advisory staff member Mark Recchi (Pittsburgh Penguins) complete the impressive list.

In nets, Belfour will be joined by a solid team of goalies led by 2-time Vezina trophy winner, 3-time Stanley Cup winner, Olympic gold medalist and World Cup of Hockey champion Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils. 2000 Vezina trophy winner Olaf Kolzig (Washington Capitals) and Marc Denis (Columbus Blue Jackets) complete the line-up.

"Our 2005 endorsee lineup is unmatched in the history of the Company" said Matt O'Toole, President and CEO of The Hockey Company. "Because CCM equipment relates to players and fans of all age groups and abilities, we felt that it was important to have an endorsee lineup that showcases veteran superstars and the best new talent that hockey has to offer."

As members of CCM's advisory staff, these players will be intimately involved with the design and performance of the product. They will also participate in product research sessions that will take place in CCM's new Innovation Centre, an important component of THC's new headquarter facility that will be in operation in 2005.
