Maple Leafs Sport Throw-Back Look to Celebrate Anniversary Toronto Maple Leafs wore CCM Throw-BackJerseys at Saturday's Game to Celebrate 75th Anniversary Montreal, Quebec, March 4th, 2002 ...The Toronto Maple Leafs wore throw-back jerseys during this past Saturday's game to commemorate their 75 years as the Maple Leafs. The jersey, produced on the Toronto Maple Leafs' request by CCM, was specifically made to honor this anniversary. Part of the "Original Six”, Toronto became the Maple Leafs in 1927. "Having been approached by the Maple Leafs, a franchise steeped in hockey history, was a tremendous thrill for us at The Hockey Company”, says jersey product manager Ross McCracken. "To participate in the 75th anniversary celebration was truly an honor”. The jersey, produced by CCM, was based on the jersey worn by Toronto before becoming the Maple Leafs, then the "Toronto St Pats”. The jerseys, which are only available at Leafs Sport shop in the Air Canada Center, were produced as a limited edition item, individually numbered 1 to 1,927. Only 1,927 jerseys were manufactured to honor the year when Toronto became the Maple Leafs. The jerseys are offered in Senior sizes only. |
