Hockey Development in U.S. and Canada Throughout Summer and Fall of 2001


Montreal, Quebec, June 27, 2001...The Hockey Company (THC), a world leader in hockey equipment and related apparel, has announced that it will sponsor more than 80 hockey schools and camps throughout North America in the summer and fall of 2001, as part of THC's continued support of hockey development at the grassroots levels.

The 80+ sponsorships mark THC's largest grassroots hockey support program ever, as the Company expects to interact with thousands of players of varying playing levels, as part of the initiative. The sponsorships, which include a variety of cash and equipment packages, will be spread among THC's three major equipment brands, CCM, KOHO and JOFA.

"Schools and camps are vital to the continued development of hockey at the grassroots level, and THC assumes a responsibility to support these programs and provide the resources necessary to help increase hockey participation, improve skill levels and enhance the overall enjoyment of the game," said Matt O'Toole, President, The Hockey Company.
