CCM To Air Its Own Radio Show: Hockey Buzz
Hockey Marketing Radio Live on The Team 990
Montreal, Quebec, January 7, 2003...The Hockey Company, the largest hockey equipment and apparel company worldwide, is bringing more marketing innovation to the hockey world. It has formed a sports media partnership with The Team 990 in Montreal.
Hockey Buzz, which will have a national appeal, starts February 8th and will air on Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The concept of the call-in radio show is hockey marketing. Co-hosts are Len Rhodes, VP of Global Marketing and Mike Sinel, Marketing Services Manager for The Hockey Company, the parent company of popular hockey brands CCM©, JOFA© and KOHO©. Guests will range from Product Managers (to advise parents on what to look for when shopping for hockey equipment), to hockey magazine editors, league officials and consumer products marketing managers.
"This is sports marketing radio - ‘live'", said Len Rhodes, VP of Global Marketing for The Hockey Company. "We're not going to talk about last night's scores, a lot of people already do that very well. We will talk about the marketing business side of the game. Consumers will have a direct link to the largest global manufacturer and marketer of hockey equipment and apparel and a variety of expert guests. Partnering a sports manufacturer with an all sports radio station introduces a totally new innovative concept to the market".
"We're very excited to welcome this unique program to The Team 990", said Marc Aflalo, Program Director at The Team 990. "Our goal as a radio station is to offer listeners more than just the scores, and Hockey Buzz will be just that". Listeners outside the Montreal area can listen to the weekly live broadcasts via the internet by logging on to www.team990.com.
